Shaping the Law in Tech-Driven Era
This course provides a deep dive into the intersection of law and disruptive technologies, emphasising the legal, ethical, and societal challenges posed by innovations like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, quantum computing, and beyond. The aim is to equip students with a foundational understanding of these technologies, not just their applications, but the principles behind how they are built, and how computational thinking shapes their design and function.
Start-up Law
This course covers the key legal and business considerations involved in launching and growing a start-up in New Zealand and the broader Oceania region. From the initial idea and financing to company formation, intellectual property protection, and exit strategies, students will gain practical knowledge in advising early-stage companies, their founders, and investors. The course balances legal principles with economic insights, preparing students to effectively support new ventures, both from a legal and business perspective.
